Origin uncertain. Presumably a Germanic centre like Murbach where our leaves were used for binding purposes in the fifteenth century. They had previously suffered from damp.

Script is a graceful pre-Caroline minuscule somewhat recalling other Murbach manuscripts: open a is the rule; N occurs here and there; the top of ꞇ loops to the left; ri, ro, te occur in ligatures.
