Origin and Provenance

Written doubtless in a North Italian centre with Insular connections, probably at Bobbio, as script and abbreviations suggest. Rewritten with Glossaries ca. 800 in North Italy or Switzerland.

Script Commentary

Script is a characteristic North Italian pre-Caroline minuscule: noteworthy are the forms of p, the et ligature, and the ep ligature resembling a heart-shaped leaf; u occurs suprascript as a flourish.
