Script Pre-Caroline Minuscule
Date VIII ex (776 - 800)
Origin and Provenance

Written presumably at Tegernsee, since the first hand has several features in common with CLM 185503 and especially with the corrector in CLM 18092. The fragments were used as fly-leaves in medieval Tegernsee bookbindings.

Script Commentary

Script is a pre-Caroline minuscule by two quite different hands; the first is closely akin to that of CLM 18550a and that of a corrector in CLM 18092, fol. 34v (CLA 9.1317, 1315): noteworthy is the suprascript zigzag form of a; d has two forms; g is uncial or half-uncial; v-shaped u occurs; the second hand is smaller and more graceful and approaches early Caroline minuscule.
