Origin and Provenance

Written presumably in Italy, to judge by the script, and apparently at Ravenna, to judge by the contents on the recto. The fragment is probably one of the gifts described 'auf Rinten geschriebene Antiquität' which the Prince-Elector Lothar Franz von Schönborn received from the Bamberg Chapter in 1725.

Script Commentary

Script is rapid, expert cursive: b (in 'laboriosius') still has the ancient cursive form.
