Script Commentary

Script is early Caroline minuscule of Lorsch type by several hands; the second stroke of x resembles an inclined letter c; z descends well below the line. Chancery script is used for the final words of Book 3 (fol. 47v), and the same hand writes a complete line at the bottom of the same page. Contemporary corrections in Anglo-Saxon minuscule on foll. 81v, 82v, etc. Ninth-century additions by Lorsch hands on foll. 69–70v, 112v ff.; an addition saec. XII–XIII on fol. 112.
