Origin and Provenance

Origin uncertain, presumably North Itaiy. The main manuscript contains Catenae in Genesim et Iohannem in Greek copied in the sixteenth century by Camillo Zanetti. Formerly owned by Francisco de Mendoza (1503–75), García de Loaisa (d. 1599), and the Convent of St Vincent Ferrer, Plasencia.

Script Commentary

Script is a well-formed half-uncial closely resembling that of CLA 11.1669: a is open; the final stroke of m is rounded; the oblique of N begins low; r has a square shoulder; the upright of t is straight, with the topstroke terminating in a downward hook at one or both ends; the bows of b, o, p, and q are noticeably round and sometimes open.
