Origin and Provenance

Written probably in a centre under English (most likely Northumbrian) influence, to judge by the script. The sixteenth-century account book from which our leaf was removed comes from Blaimont (cf. the entry 'Blaimont' in the upper margin of the recto), a chapel provided for by the abbey of Waulsort.

Script is imitative uncial, showing Insular influence in its use of wedged-shaped finials.
