| Origin and Provenance |
Written no doubt at Lucca. The name Jacobus in the introductory verses to 'De Natura Rerum' has been identified with the Bishop of Lucca (801–18), but hardly on sufficient evidence. |

| Script Commentary |
Script is uncial of the latest type with frequent intrusions of minuscule or cursive elements; here and there (foll. 322v, 323) the scribe drops into pre-Caroline minuscule of a type which he uses for the poem entered on fol. 232v (see CLA 3.303c). |
